111 is the NHS non-emergency number. You should call this service if you need medical help or advice or are unsure if you need to go to A&E, but it is not a life-threatening situation. You will be able to speak to a highly-trained adviser supported by healthcare professionals. The service is fast, easy and free and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

It also endeavours to increase the professional and public awareness of chronic pain in society and the facilities available for its management.


Action on Pain

Action on Pain was formed in 1998 with the intent of providing support and advice for people living with chronic pain. The organisation is run almost entirely by volunteers, many of whom either have or are experiencing chronic pain. The charity prides itself on its friendly, informal approach to helping people manage their pain which has made it a major national and international organisation.
